Autumn Driving Advice
As the leaves fall and the nights draw in, autumn brings new challenges for drivers. Here are a few key reminders to help keep you and others safe:
Watch for wet leaves – They can be as slippery as ice. Slow down and increase your stopping distance.
Mind the light – Shorter days mean more driving in the dark. Check your headlights and keep windscreens clean to reduce glare.
Fog & frost – Be prepared for sudden changes in visibility and temperature. Use fog lights when needed and defrost windows fully before setting off.
Wildlife on the move – Especially at dawn and dusk, watch for deer and other animals crossing rural roads.
Tyre check – Make sure your tyres have adequate tread and are properly inflated for wet and cold conditions.
Let’s all do our part to drive safely this season.
